Program Description:

In a concerted effort to re-energize Westchester County’s business climate, the Westchester County Office of Economic Development has launched an aggressive, ambitious multi-year advertising and digital branding campaign focused on what makes Westchester unique – its intellectual capital.

Laurence P. Gottlieb, Director of the Westchester County Office of Economic Development, will address the county’s strategy for attracting new businesses to Westchester's $26 billion dollar economy. From providing a comprehensive snapshot of the county's current economic condition to outlining a road map for Westchester's economic future based upon several critical hot growth sectors, Mr. Gottlieb will share with you how the county is "lifting all boats" against a stormy economic tide. He will equally share with the group his specific insights and report from the frontline on what the types of companies either moving into the area or anticipated to expand into Westchester in the near and long term.

Appointed in January 2010 by then newly elected Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino, Mr. Gottlieb joined the administration as Director of Economic Development with over 20 years of experience as a top management executive in several major corporations, public affairs agencies and a global non-profit organization. He has served as a senior counselor to CEOs on a broad range of subject areas, including media and government relations, marketing, sustainability issues, corporate social responsibility, crisis communications and outreach across the digital divide.
